Science Seminars

About

The JPSS Science Seminar Series was established as a forum to encourage dialogue between users of polar-orbiting environmental data, personnel from NOAA Cooperative Institutes (CIs), NOAA/NESDIS and NASA technical experts, staff and academic partners. The seminars focus on emerging JPSS capabilities and how they can be quickly transitioned into support for NOAA operational missions.

Briefings are generally presented by the JPSS Proving Ground and Risk Reduction (PGRR) principal investigators and staff. The JPSS PGRR Program is managed by the JPSS Chief Program Scientist Mitch Goldberg, PhD.

These briefings and accompanying discussion sessions are a valuable opportunity to share insight on user requirements and how current and future JPSS capabilities may potentially meet those needs.

Individuals interested in learning more about featured speakers, dates and times should directly emailJPSS.ScienceSeminars@noaa.gov for more information. Unless otherwise noted, JPSS Science Seminars are typically an hour in duration and held monthly.

Participation

Individuals interested in joining the JPSS Science Seminars email group may email the JPSS Science Seminar Facilitator at JPSS.ScienceSeminars@noaa.gov.
